IN SIGHT won Best Exhibition at the prestigious Event Industry Awards last Friday night! We were up against some serious competition so this was an amazing result! Really delighted and hugely grateful to our amazing photographers who bravely shared their photographs and personal stories of homelessness and to all our partners, sponsors and helpers who generously contributed their time, expertise, products, services and goodwill to make this exhibition possible.

IN SIGHT Exhibition Launch
Fantastic night last night at the IN SIGHT photography project exhibition launch. 40 images from the work of our IN SIGHT photographers was up on show for all to see and looked amazing. We were absolutely delighted with the turnout and want to say a massive thanks to everyone who came, to all our exhibiting photographers and to all the partners, volunteers and sponsors that helped out on the night to make the event as good as it could be. The IN SIGHT exhibition will run in Powerscourt Centre until May 29th so be sure to check it out if you can.
IN SIGHT is a unique project highlighting the issue of homelessness in Ireland through the lens of those that have lived it, i.e. people who are now or have recently been homeless. Over the course of 12 months 45 people were given a disposable camera, photography training and asked to take photos that tell their personal stories of homelessness, to show the world through their eyes. An exhibition of their work runs in Powerscourt Centre Dublin from May 5th to 29th. All photos are also on display and can be purchased at www.theinsightproject.ie with money raised going to the Dublin Simon Community.

The 22nd of May 2015 will go down in history as a very important day in Ireland where compassion and fairness ruled over intolerance and bigotry. Proud to be Irish today :)
Guinness Shaving Kits For Men!
100 Guinness Shaving Kits for men to give away!
Scientific research has shown that the hops in barley offer extraordinary benefits for the skin! As a result Guinness has developed a limited edition men's shaving product range that creates an exceptional creamy lather to give men a fantastic shave!
......Okay maybe not, but this could make a great Guinness April Fools' Day campaign.
April Fools' Day is a really nice opportunity for brands to show their sense of humour, engage fans and increase brand loyalty. With that in mind I came up with 'Guinness Shaving Kits For Men'*. The best fibs are ones that have an element of truth and could be believable. With Guinness's frothy head and natural ingredients it's not totally inconceivable that it could be used to make men's shaving products.
Teaser banner ads would advertise the new Guinness Shaving Kits for men and direct the target audience through to a microsite where they could learn more and enter their details to be in with a chance to receive a kit for themselves. Upon clicking 'continue' all is revealed when a pop up appears announcing that it's all a big April Fools' Day prank. As a consolation, the person is still entered into a draw to win one of 100 luxury barbering treatments at an exclusive Dublin grooming emporium.
Guinness Shaving Kits For Men - a simple, fun campaign for Guinness to make their customers smile and treat some of them to a lovely enjoyable experience as a reward for their loyalty and to grow their affinity to the brand.

20 Ways To ...
Sketching animals from 20 Ways To Draw A Cat (a Christmas present from my sis!) while listening to Saint Germain - not a bad way to spend an hour : )
Istanbul
I spent a few days in Istanbul over new years. It's somewhere I've always wanted to go so when the opportunity came up I jumped at it. And it didn't disappoint. The weather was freezing, wet sleety snow falling from the sky that seemed to hit you in the face no matter how many layers you had on. But that just gave us more of an excuse to sit in cafes and drink some hot Turkish tea/Irish coffees: ) The city itself is very cool. Obviously there's the usual tourist attractions mosques/museums etc. but outside of that there are lots of quirky little places to explore, windy cobbled streets and an of the beaten track art gallery or two. It was just what the doctor ordered to head into 2015 inspired, energised and excited about what lies ahead.
Jim
Hanging out with my friend Jim at his exhibition opening in the Green Gallery tonight. Jim is one of Ireland's greatest artists and his stunning work including his intricate celtic paintings, his Thin Lizzy art and his world famous Che Guevara poster are all on show at the Green Gallery until December 11th. And not only is Jim a phenomenal artist, tonight he revealed another amazing hidden talent...that of photobomber extraordinaire! If you get a chance to pop in to the exhibition it's well worth a visit.
New York, New York.
I did the New York marathon this year. Signed up for it 4 years ago and eventually I got in. Coming up to it I started thinking about what I would wear, and did I have anything worthwhile to write on my shirt! There's an Art Director in New York I hugely admire who's work I have been following for a few years now. His style is all about being free and instinctive, having something to say and getting the message out there without worrying too much about making it pretty or perfect. He does a lot of freehand copy. He also spends a lot of time giving out advice to troubled creatives around the world on his weekly Burning Questions You Tube series. He's been a big inspiration to me for quite a while now. His name is James Victore.
Turns out the marathon course goes pretty close to his studio in Brooklyn so I decided to pay homage to him by writing a message to him on my shirt, in a style inspired by his work. The plan was that he would be watching the marathon, see me go by, and be so impressed that he would immediately stop me and insist I go work for him in New York! Funnily enough, that didn't happen and I got through the course uninterrupted. But, as luck would have it, in a weird coincidence, he just happened to be having an open-to-all meet up evening a few nights later and I got to go along and meet him anyway! It was brilliant, he was great and hopefully flattered rather than afraid of his crazy stalker girl from Ireland! : )
